My MIL stays with us at least once in a year. When she comes here she prepares this puli kuzhambu powder in bulk and brings it.She likes my way of preparing this gravy (recipe follows)...Now for a long time i didn't go to motherland, since this podi is not in stock, I recently tried it by asking her over phone. Most of my kids day out is with my hubby. Once in a blue moon :) I take them out to the nearest park. I got few park friends and few months back one of them asked for chicken nuggets (Sorry for the delay :). I am giving both the baked and shallow fried version with homemade avocado dip. Please choose your choice. To my perspective both are equally good.

I had tough time in 2007. Ganesh Chaturthi was nearing and I don’t want to skip my regular Pooja/Prayer. Luckily my close friend was with me for Ganesh Chaturthi, so we started preparing bachelor kozhukattais. I just watched her and she prepared everything n called her her mom through phone for her doubts. The outcome was simply superb.

Though I am not from the culture of making Kozhukattais for festival, Neighbors in Chennai not even taught making variety of patchanams also guided the way of praying with Mud Pillaiyar, Umbrella, Arugam poo malai etc. I really inspired, attained very pleasant mind and following every year. Let approach God with your own way and I wish your colorful dreams come true. I have given easy sweet and kara pidi kozhukattais here. Due to lengthy post I cut down the remaining actual neivedhyam recipes, will do in next post.

There is no meaning in saying Kongu foods without this recipe. Whenever I taste Arisiyum paruppu sadam, it reminds my childhood days spent with cousins. We all gather on our very first day of vacation in Mom's hometown. When grandma asks what special to do, we all say arisiyum paruppu sadam with no second opinion. She makes fresh ghee from the butter collected on the same day, which apts well for this rice. aah the flavor still remains in my thought!!! We preferably have this rice for dinner with funny chats...the open

Every day we are running with Sandwich, Cereals, Pan Cakes, Waffles, Egg Scrambles and Desserts so n so... How do we forget our traditional recipes? Try this easy and healthy Kambu/Bajri dosa which is purely made of Kambu/Bajri and no Rice or Urad dhal mixed in the batter. This is my mom's signature recipe and I have served this dosa with healthy Manathakkali chutney which I posted earlier(In the old picture below).
