Vazhaipoo Masala Vadai | Banana Blossom (Banana Flower) Vada

This is how my mom and relatives around Kongu region make vazhai poo vadai. They make a ground paste of onion, garlic and ginger with cinnamom and cloves and then they mix it with dal and fresh vazhai poo to make vadai. I will explain two version of making either you can add the vazhai poo directly in jar to blend or pressure cook and then blend to fine paste. The only difference is the raw pound vazhai poo gives some fiber here and there, my dad won't like that so my mom usually pressure cooks and when cooled they grind it to fine smooth paste. If you feel cooking vazhai poo is time consuming then do directly.

Fresh Vazhai Poo (Banana Blossom) - 1 n 1/2 Cups
Chana Dhal/Vadai Paruppu - 3/4th Cup
Salt n Oil - As Needed
Chopped Coriander n Curry Leaves - Few

Vazhaithandu Soup | Banana Stem Clear Soup Recipe

Due to severe wind and rain few banana and papaya trees were broken in our backyard, so without wasting this healthy/Herbal stems, I made this soup along with few other papaya recipes...In Chennai I tasted this soup several years back, when i tried at home for the very first time, I really fell in love. Gramathu Kozhi Saaru | கிராமத்து கோழிச்சாறு | Country Style Chicken Gravy II

This is the most common making gravy from the village side and especially they make it during family get together. This gravy won’t be thick and prepared as saaru/rasam(watery) which goes well with rice and tiffin varieties. Couple of days back we got heavy thunder and rain in our place which leads to 28hrs power cut and net still not working at home. This is the only recipe I drafted long time back
