Course: Breakfast
Cuisine: American
Servings: 4

Ingredients
  • All Purpose Flour - 3/4 Cup
  • Whole Wheat Flour - 1/4 Cup
  • Fresh Strawberries - 1 Cup From 8 - 10 berries, Chopped
  • Regular Milk / Almond Milk (For Vegan) - 1 Cup
  • Vegetable or any flavorless Oil - 1/4 Cup
  • Brown or Turbinado Sugar - 1.5 Tbsp
  • Baking Powder - 2 tsp
  • Cinnamon Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt - 1/4 tsp
  • Vanilla Extract - 1/2 tsp
Instructions
  1. Soak fresh strawberries in water for a while.
  2. Meanwhile add flours, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon powder and salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. Mix the dry ingredients well and add milk to the flour mixture.
  4. Add oil to the waffle mixture.
  5. Now wipe the excess water and hull the berries, chop them as shown in the video.
  6. Add to the waffle batter and do mix gently.
  7. Mine is a non stick if not do grease the waffle maker with oil.
  8. In preheated waffle maker, pour waffle batter (refer video and i always keep medium brown setting in the waffle maker).
  9. Once poured do turn it upside down for the waffle to cook.
  10. If you see the bottom green light down turn it upside.
  11. Now wait for the green light to turn on.
  12. Even if the lights are on I leave it for 30 more seconds before removing it for more crispiness.
  13. It takes hardly 4.5 to 4.75 minutes for each waffle to done perfectly.
  14. In case the waffle sticks do leave few more seconds and don't reduce oil in the batter this helps to prevent sticking.
  15. This measurement yields 4 waffles for the family.
Recipe Notes
  1. You can reduce strawberries to 3/4th cup.
  2. You can skip cinnamon powder.
  3. The brown sugar can be unrefined organic sugar, palm jaggery/ karupatti or nattu sarkarai.
  4. Don't pour batter in the unheated waffle maker.
  5. Too runny batter may cause sticky and soggy waffles.
