Eggless Honeycomb Buns | Beehive Bread | Khaliat al Nahal Recipe from Scratch

Khaliat al Nahal (known by many as Khaliat Nahal) simply means Bee's Hive. The name is due to the bread's resemblance to a honeycomb and for the sweet honey-flavored glaze it use after the bread is out from oven. Also the traditional Honeycomb buns/Beehive Bread  usually filled with cheese and

Kummelweck (Kimmelweck) Sandwich Rolls and Salt and Pepper Bread Sticks

Kimmelweck --> Savory sandwich buns or rolls topped with coarse salt and caraway seeds. These rolls are great for sandwiches and even burgers. Kimmelweck means a hard roll, much like a crusty Kaiser roll, but sprinkled with caraway (I replaced with kalonji seeds) and coarse salt instead of poppy seeds. In Buffalo, New York, these rolls are used to make a specialty sandwich called the "Beef on Weck", with thinly sliced rare roast beef and horseradish and it is typically served with fries and a dill pickle. Here I made it as burger

Black Forest Buns

Today's recipe is soft, pillow like Black Forest Buns stuffed/rolled with chocolate sponge cake and cherry/jam. Black Forest cake is all about chocolate cake, cherry compote and kirsch (cherry brandy) and loads of cream. These buns use chocolate cake and cherry compote. Black Forest Buns obviously use cherry and if you don’t have that, you can always substitute with strawberry jam/ compote. The method of kneading, rolling out the dough, covering it with the filling, and then rolling it back is just like making cinnamon rolls, I have shared a You tube video

Petit Pains au Lait | French Milk Bread/ Rolls | Eggless Mini Breads

Petit Pains au Lait (French), that means small or little milk breads. They may be simple but they are elegant looking and really good. They are a beautiful golden brown on the outside, and almost flaky on the inside because of the way the dough is rolled and shaped. Then they are decorated by cutting through the top with scissors in a manner which results in the beautiful pattern typical of Petit Pains au Lait. This dough is also pretty good to shape into any pattern of your choice. Thanks Aparna (We Knead To Bake), I have learned

Eggless Bavaria Dampfnudel | Steamed Sweet Dumpling from Oven | Soft Milk Buns

Bavarian Dumplings made with yeast are one of those great traditional German recipes named Dampfnudel. It is a steam fried dumpling in a small amount of  water or milk, and butter or oil, perhaps with seasoning, then after the dumpling is set, the moisture is gone leaving the butter and you then let it fry in the butter until you have a nice crispy crust on the bottom. They are super delicious and too soft Dumplings/Buns with

Most of Europe has a tradition of baking rich buttery and eggy sweet breads for Easter and this Easter bread from Cyprus is much the same except that it is savoury. Today I am sharing the Japanese Melon Pan aka Sweet Bun recipe for We Knead to Bake Bakers Challenge. This Melon Pan (Bread) has 2 layers, inner soft bun layered with crispy outer cookie layer. Their appearance resembles a melon, such as a rock melon (cantaloupe) but they are not traditionally melon flavored. Also this buns are mildly sweetened, you can increase few tablespoon of sugar if you like so. I added only yolks (egg whites i used for French Macaroon, recipe coming soon) to get the yellow melon
