Vellai Pattani Sundal Recipe | Yellow Peas Stir Fry

Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to all of you...Today Sep 09th is Lord Vinayak Birthday. Pillaiyar/Ganesh is widely worshipped as the god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune and traditionally prayed at the beginning of any new venture like starting a business, building new house/House Warming Ceremony (Ganapathi Homam), Start of travel, so and so. Puffed Rice n Peanut Sundal | Beach Style

Raw mangoes on season, it reminded the beach sundal so grabbed it from store. I was in Chennai for few yrs. In beaches we get two options from street sundal seller either puffed Rice/masala sundal or the plain peanut sundal, so today's recipe fall on both these categories...Whenever I visit, I prefer to have plain peanut sundal. Frequently make without mango but if possibly substitute all ingredients then it fulfills the originality. The very first munch with paper cone well reminds the relaxed time spent at beach. If making this for Navratri festive, skip onion/chat masala as you wish...This is the perfect sundal for evening snack during this weekend I guess...

Sweet Corn Sundal


Sweet corn is what we usually get here, very easy to cook and now this corn on season.  Whenever I get fresh corns I prepare as mentioned in the first method which tastes similar to what we get in a street shop in front of "Palamudhir Nilayam" (I could not remember whether it belongs to the same shop or not but taste n flavor still remains in my mouth :))

I usually prepare White or Kala Chana for every chaturthi festival. Even Lord Vinayaka/Ganesh may expect different varieties right? Ingredients 
Dried Soya Beans - 1 & 1/2 Cups
Dried/Raw Peanut - 1/2 Cup
