No Oven, No Condensed Milk , No Milk Powder, No Paneer, No Nuts, No Vanilla Flavor and No Sour Cream or Greek yogurt used to make this perfect Eggless Sponge Cake. Also I didn't use heavy / full cream kind of fancy stuffs yet delicious cake is guaranteed. Today I picked the first Ridgegourd (swipe for the pic) for this season from the veg garden. And it straightly went in to my #manchatti for Peerkangai Masiyal ( Kadaiyal). I always follow my grandma recipe to make this kadaisal and sometimes in clay pot like her. Usually we add milk or butter atlast but today I skipped it. In 2009 we lived in San Diego and at that time there was no Perungayam powder/ Asafoetida powder in Indian stores. So in 2010 when I made a trip to India, Amma packed several packets of compound hing in my luggage. After coming here as per Amma's suggestion in phone call, I powdered the compound hing packets successfully 😃. Also I recorded the same in blog in early 2013 with step by step pictures. Swipe to see good old picture and the recent replica of it, glad I own the same food props still 🤩. After these many years , I noticed compounded hing in Indian store during peak pandemic period (immediately I purchased it, vangama varuvoma). That happiness after seeing a rare product can't be explained in words 😊. Since homemade Asafoetida powder is one popular post in blog recently I uploaded video tutorial for the same. In my previous post this hing powder was at the back of the lunch thali and now I revealed the suspense 😊
