Happy Aavani Avitam and Rakshabandhan friends. From Varalakshmi Pooja till now, back to back festivals in a very short time. I v cooked a lot, sharing one which I made for Aadi Perukku. Since it was my special day, The day started with bed coffee and toasted bread by my son. The whole family made loom bracelet swipe to see their precious quarantine gifts 😃 (also these pics were clicked by my daughter) . I didn't make any sweet so kept Palm candy (panang karkandu) in the plate , I later realized it was missing 😉 That no deep fried no sweet lunch thali includes (left to right)

Arisi Paruppu Sadham (Rice & Lentil mixed One Pot Meal ) a popular food from Coimbatore is so close to my heart. I do have two versions in blog and this is my mom and grandma recipe which I prefer most and it's a tomato free recipe. Every week after that tiresome work I prepare this classic rice for Friday dinner to relax with family. If not for Friday dinner then propably for Saturday lunch 😊. Love this unforgotten rice to core which brings back loads of childhood memories. Since H is from the same place he too relish this food and so does my kids. For those who are unaware it's a quick one pot meal with rice,dal ( Arisi , Paruppu in Tamil) and spices. This rice goes well with ghee, potato roast, pickle, curd. What is your favorite side? Today I have updated the already existing recipe in the blog with video tutorial. If you have already tried it do let me know your feedback and if not do try at least once 😊
