Spicy Cumin Powder Rice Seeraga Sadha Podi Recipe
Ingredients for Powder
Cumin Seeds/Seeragam – 1 Cup
Whole Red Chili – 2 Number
Pepper Corns – 1 1/2tsp
Pepper Corns – 1 1/2tsp
Salt – As Needed
Curry Leaves – Few
Method
- Heat the dry empty pan to high flame and first add the cumin seeds, immediately stir well and reduce the flame.

Add the remaining except curry leaves, dry roast till nice aroma arrives, remove from heat.

Finally add curry leaves.

Stir on and often for few minutes, when cooled completely powder it.
Cumin Rice Preparation
Boiled Rice – 1 Cup
Spicy Cumin Powder – 1 Tbsp
Chopped Onion – 1/4 Cup
Mustard – 1/4tsp
Chana dal & Split Urad dal -2 tsp each
Oil – 2 tsp
Salt, Curry Leaves – As Needed
- Heat oil in a pan splutter mustard, add chana and urad dal till golden brown
- Add chopped onions, curry leaves, salt saute well
- Add already prepared cumin powder and boiled rice
- Mix well, check salt and remove from heat.
