Cream Cheese Frosting Using Hand Whisk

July 27, 2012 By Sangeetha Priya 2 Comments

The Cream cheese frosting can be used in decorating/Icing Cakes, Cup cakes, Pies, Puddings, Cookies, Drinks and as filling in Tiramisu.

Ingredients

Fat free Cream Cheese – 8 Oz at Room Temp

Butter – 1/4 Cup(1/2 Stick) at Room Temp

Milk  – 2 tsp
Sugar – 3/4 Cup
Vanilla Essence – 1 tsp

Method

  • Cut butter in to few pieces. Cream Butter and Sugar.
  • Add Cheese and Vanilla essence beat well.
  • Add few drops of milk on regular intervals while whisking.
  • Whisk continuously till foamy.

  • If using electric hand mixer then skip milk.
  • Refrigerate till you use in recipes.
Note
  • Fat free frosting can be done by skipping butter, but it is bit watery and goes well for Tiramisu like recipes.
  • Refrigate the whipped cream cheese for 1/2 an hour before icing the cake.
  • I decorated chocolate cup cake with butterless/fatless (skipped butter from this recipe) cream cheese frosting above.
  • Will upload video later.
