Fish Cutlet Recipe

August 1, 2012 By Sangeetha Priya 6 Comments

I rarely do deep fries; sometimes my husband nudges me to prepare at least for kids. So this fish cutlet is my daughter’s favorite and I am going to describe my way with as usual less oil absorbent tips   🙂 So far

I tried with Salmon and King Fish, tastes great with both types. Very simple to prepare with under 5 ingredients. Will go into the detailed recipe…

Ingredients

Salmon Fish – 1 Number (300gms)
Potato – 1 Number (Medium Size)
Fish Fry Masala Powder – 1/2 Tbsp
Bread Crumbs, Salt and Oil – As Needed
Turmeric Powder – 1/4tsp (Optional)

Method

  • Pressure cook the halved potato for 2 whistles, cool and mash it well.
  • Just toss the fish in dosa pan by flipping both sides (Not necessary to cook completely)
  • Remove the thorns/bones and mass it well with your hand.
  • Mix mashed Potato, Fish, 2 Tbsp of bread crumbs, Salt and Fish fry masala.
  • Make shapes and again coat it with bread crumbs.
  • Fry in hot oil.
  • Serve with sliced veggies.

Notes

  1. Since fish has oil by nature, coats well with bread crumbs and no need to dip in egg mixture.
  2. I use slightly coarse homemade bread crumbs, which apt well for this cutlet and won’t absorb much oil.
  3. If needed add more bread crumbs.
