Egg Puff Recipe

March 26, 2012 By Sangeetha Priya 1 Comment

Ingredients

Boiled egg – 2 Number
Salt and Pepper – As Required
Sambar or Red Chili Powder – 1tsp (Optional)
Homemade Puff Pastry/Store bought sheet – 4 Number
Assorted Veggies – Peas/Onion/Carrot/Tomato (Optional)

Method

  • Cut the eggs vertically in to halves, sprinkle pepper and salt over that.
  • Saute veggies with little oil and sambar powder, par cook is enough.
  • In the puff pastry sheet keep the egg (bottom facing down) with some veg filling, cover, place this in a pan and bake it in the oven (450° F) for 10 minutes or till it turns golden brown.

Note:

  1. Can coat beaten egg over the puff (before baking refrigerate for 10mins to the coating to set well, this gives golden color to the puff).
  2. I made these puffs with homemade puff pastry.
  3. I have uploaded an easy method of making puff pastry with step by step tutorial in another recipe. Do check it HERE.
