Easy Onion Chutney Recipe

My MIL taught me this super easy chutney with just 3 main ingredients. Very tasty and key point here in this recipe lies while sauteing the onions. Cook the onion well till raw smell disappears and also don’t burn the onions. The taste comes when you saute onion with tamarind and chilis all together. Its such perfect
and easy side dish to make in jiffy for morning or evening tiffins.

Ingredients

Red Onion – 2 Numbers (Large Size)
Red Chili – 2-3 Numbers

Tamarind – Small piece
Salt and Oil – As Required

Method

  • Slice onions lengthwise.
  • Heat oil add Onions, Red chillis, Tamarind and salt cook till onion changes pink in color. reduces in size and sides of onion shown turn well cooked (Pic 3).
  • The whole process should be done in low-medium flame
  • Blend it without adding water to thick paste, if necessary you can sprinkle little water.
  • Serve with tiffin items.
  • You can adjust spices by adding some red chili powder while grinding.
  • Also add tamarind extract while grinding to increase sourness.
